Article Processing Charges
Our team continuously works toward ensuring the accessibility of high-quality mental health research by keeping publication costs as manageable as possible for authors.
Technical and Article Processing Charges Policy
After the initial 100% waiver period (first 10 publications), the Technical and Article Processing Charges (TPC/APC) will apply to accepted manuscripts (with a 50% waiver for the following 15 articles). These fees will support the journal’s operational costs, technical checks, copyediting, peer review management, editorial processes, design, layout, and open-access publishing. The TPC/APC will be communicated transparently on this page, ensuring authors understand the financial requirements before submission.
Waiver Policy
To promote inclusivity and accessibility, Mental Health Open will offer APC waivers in specific cases:
✅ First 10 articles – 100% waiver of TPC/APC.
✅ Following 15 articles – 50% waiver of APC.
✅ Authors from Low- and Middle-Income Countries – Researchers from those countries will be eligible for full or partial APC waivers.
✅ Exceptional Cases – Authors facing financial constraints or working on groundbreaking studies with limited funding may request a waiver.
✅ Institutional Partnerships – Collaborating institutions may receive discounted APC rates or waivers based on agreements.
✅ Editorial Board Members – Will receive 50% discounted APC rates.
✅ Active Peer Reviewers – Peer Reviewers will receive a 10% discount on APC for each peer review provided for one submitted article.
